Kaleido Studio is a Portland-based architectural design firm rooted in the Pacific Northwest. The studio is committed to working directly with owners on their specialty program projects - forging relationships and defining the unique essence of each client is central to our design approach. The name “Kaleido” is a direct representation of our ethos and firm culture: the pursuit for beautiful form while celebrating the harmony and whimsical nature inherent in design, life, and the natural world. Our solutions prioritize sustainability, resilience, and the integration of nature as an underlying basis.
In 2017, Corey Omey assumed ownership of EMA Architecture, LLC, a multi-disciplinary architecture and planning firm started in 1979 by Ernie Munch, after dedicating 19 years to the company. He aimed to cultivate an office culture mirroring the firm's design ethos: democratic, equitable, and sustainable. By obtaining B-Corp certification in 2019, the company demonstrated its commitment to social and environmental responsibility and uses this framework for continual improvement. Our commitment is evident in the focus on material reuse and upcycling, alternative energy systems, high-performance architectural detailing, and sustainable and regenerative construction practices. After a decade of working with the firm, Jenn Lanius became a partner at Kaleido Studio, where sustainability and resilience take precedence in her designs.
Kaleido Studio is a founding member of Place to B, a co-working hub for mission-driven businesses and people to work, connect, and collaborate. We utilize our resources and our community network to provide support for circular and local economies, women and minorities, diversity and inclusion policies, and giving.
