Zadar is considered to be the birthplace of Croatian basketball.
Founded in 1945, the Club has won 8 national championships and 7 national cups. In 2003 Basketball Club Zadar won ABA League (Adriatic league) against one of the European powerhouses - Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Kresimir Cosic is perhaps Zadar's best-known player. He was the first European All-American and first European ever drafted in the NBA.
