French owner, Olivier Mottier opened Jour De Fête in 1988, with the goal of providing healthy, affordable food to locals and visitors. He grew up in Thônes, France. A small town in the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps. His family ran a market place below their house in the town center. They sold local produce, meats and cheeses. The store changed a bit over the years, but the last version was called "A L'Arcade" and was family owned and operated from 1933-1990.
Olivier may have moved far away from home, but he recreated his family business so the legacy can live on! His children and close friends have helped him run the business over the last 30 years, making it the ultimate "family affair," and his clientele are the reason we've stayed in business for so long! He is proud of his shop and is grateful for the many years of community he has gained over the years.
