The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) is an independent national charity which exists to campaign for justice in immigration, nationality and refugee law and policy. We believe people have always moved and always will - and all our lives are better because of it.
Since we were founded in 1967, we have supported many thousands of individuals and families who have been affected by the unfairness of British immigration law.
JCWI has a team of lawyers supporting people to secure their immigration status and rights in the UK, as well as a campaigns and communications team working to get fairer immigration rules. We aim to change the media narrative around people who move, as well as working closely with politicians to secure changes to cruel and discriminatory immigration policies.
