Jelena Kostic

Kostic Foundation for Contemporary Art is the name under which choreographer and artistic director Jelena Kostic realises her dance projects in collaboration with other art professionals. In the choreography Jelena Kostic focuses not on "nice dance staps", a perfect body and superb technique. Dancers are more cinematic characters who crawl in their role as an actor. The performance is hard and sometimes confrontational, sometimes light and slapstick-like. Kostic has in recent years developed a dance language together with a small group of dancers, movie makers and other artistic professionals. In the coming years she is planning to explore new directions in the narrative dance where movie, visual arts and newly composed music plays an important role.
