Jai Shankar Handicrafts Jai Shankar Handicrafts was first open in 2003. My name is Shankar Khatri,  and I was born and brought up in the majestic and beautiful town of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. I was very keen to know about the culture and tradition of this place. I have Diploma in Culture and Tourism and I also love arts so I create my own designs. We are specialist in Thar Desert Antique Embroidery & Textiles. The embroideries in the South-Western region of Rajasthan are impressive. Traditional wedding dresses, opium bags, and dowery bags come from the desert villages and are then sewn together to make magnificent patch work, wall hangings, bed covers and many other things based in this kind of local work. Throughout all these years in the business, I have met many different people from all over the world, with different ideas and purposes for business. At the moment I export these products to countries such as England, Spain, France, Chile. The advantage nowadays of the Internet is that business can be made in the distance, so maybe this can be a beginning for you.
