Severnaya Neftegazovaya Kompaniya Open Joint-Stock Company (Severneftegas OJSC) was incorporated on October 16th 2001. The Company’s primary mission consists in geological exploration of subsoil plots for the purpose of search and appraisal of raw hydrocarbon deposits within the continental shelf of the Barents Sea. The principal shareholder is OJSC Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK). Severneftegas OJSC has obtained three licenses for geological exploration of three plots of the Kola-Kanin Monocline area within the continental shelf of the Barents Sea to the north of the Kola Peninsula for the purpose of raw hydrocarbon search and appraisal.
