Privacy Innovation Lab (PIL) is designed as an innovation and entrepreneurial hub where students and stakeholders gain the interdisciplinary skills in modern software development, privacy engineering, security and legal to fuel data protection and privacy innovation.
PIL will be hosting learning sessions, privacy tech ideathons/hackathons, privacy tech startup events, public privacy awareness campaigns and privacy innovation talks series with privacy tech founders in order to create synergy, awareness, and collaboration between NGOs, academia, innovators, private sector and public institutions.
Privacy Innovation Lab (PIL) is also responsible for the Privacy Engineering Masters Track and Privacy Engineering Certificate Program under Bilgi IT Law Masters Program.
These programs will offer students and professionals who are looking for a higher education in the technical side of the privacy profession to integrate privacy engineering into their knowledge base.
Privacy Engineering Track will offer a hybrid curriculum designed to provide the necessary skills and knowledge to address and propose solutions to privacy challenges of modern society. Core courses will provide an advanced understanding of the foundations of information security and privacy, engineering privacy into modern technologies, ethical design and privacy user experience, and privacy enhancing technologies.
