Israel Green Building Council (Ilgbc) המועצה הישראלית לבנייה ירוקה

The ILGBC was established in early 2007 as a non-profit organization. The ILGBC is uniquely supported by industry, government and academy, together with leading professional, social and environmental organizations. Within a short time, the council gained strong support based on this wide, cross-sector representation and the immediate need to support and promote this initiative. Only through the partnership of all these interest groups has it been possible to create real change in world-wide construction markets, and we believe it is strongly applicable in Israel as well. For the last 3 years, the ILGBC has striven to develop a robust working plan compatible with international GBC standards, and thereby has achieved Emerging Status with the World GBC. In early 2009, the ILGBC began holding regular founding board meetings, as well as creating and implementing sub-committees for strong execution of the working plan, marking the launch of our sustainable building campaign.
