The Ionian University, which is currently in its fourth decade of operation, is located in the historic and beautiful Ionian Islands, Greece. It is a modern state university, which, after integrating the Technological Educational Institute of the Ionian Islands in 2018, is now offering 12 undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc.) and 16 postgraduate (M.A., M.Sc.) programmes.
Most of our departments enjoy a rare position on the Greek University map, which gives our graduates considerable advantages. Our aim is to provide our students all they need for a successful professional career, and at the same time to offer the best possible environment for their studies, with benefits which often go well beyond those offered by other, much bigger universities.
During its years of operation, the Ionian University has created an international academic and research profile, being partner in many academic networks, collaborating with other higher education institutions and research centers on a European and international level, and participating in 200 bilateral and LLP Erasmus academic agreements.
The outgoing character of the Ionian University also expresses itself on the local cultural and artistic scene with numerous events, concerts, recitals, lectures, festivals, exhibitions, seminars, and international conferences, with the aspiration to offer our students education and culture as an integral part of everyday life.
