The Internet Commission is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2018 to give digitalisation a new direction. Industries, governments and citizens need the digital transformation of society to be a positive and trustworthy process. Yet, today there is a global information crisis characterised by confusion, distrust, fragmentation, irresponsibility and apathy.
That’s why the Internet Commission is collaborating with business, policymakers and civil society to advance digital responsibility through independent evaluation. Our work promotes ethical business practice to counter hate speech, abuse, fraud, algorithmic bias and misinformation whilst promoting privacy and freedom of expression. We provide independent health check, knowledge sharing and evaluation services to organisations that are advancing digital responsibility and tackling online harms.
