Founded in 1982, the Institute's mission is to develop, deliver and disseminate evidence based child welfare programs to keep children safe, strengthen families, and reduce the need for placing children into state-funded care.
IFD's programs have been replicated in over 40 states and 8 other countries, and have received recognition from the U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP), the Washington State Institute for Public Policy and the U.S. Surgeon General.
