Nuff bass, nuff soul, nuff grit, nuff passion, nuff said.
Inna Riddim is a UK-grown, Sydney-based record label and sound system bringing the ruckus from Brighton to Bondi. We love music that pushes boundaries across the full spectrum of bass music: jungle drum&bass, dubstep, techno, 2step, house&funky, reggae, dancehall, grime, techno, underground hiphop, soul, funk, jazz and whatever else we're feeling so long as it's got bass, soul and grit.
Our mission:
We love fresh music. Music that lives, pushes boundaries, surprises and delights. The kind of music that is more about innovation than pushing product; artists that would rather perservere through nine failures on the route to making something unique and beautiful, than produce ten bland successes; listeners that are willing to be challenged, not sedated with the familiar. Music like this can be found in any genre - and it can be wildly successful or completely obscure.
A lot of people love this kind of music too. And a lot of those people dislike the way the industry and the media tend to distort the perception of music that is given exposure: the chronic timidity that constantly recirculates old ideas, until it finds a new bandwagon to leap onto - generating the kind of market-driven pop music that feeds off the underground like a bloated parasite, blind to the qualities of the sounds they reflexively water down.
We don't have any interest in that kind of music either - nor do we waste our time on the media that surrounds it. In our view, media does not have to dumb down or dilute. Inna Riddim is our contribution to the independent media that feeds hungry souls and minds worldwide; and our chance to share our love of fresh music with the world.
