Recognised as Illovo’s first presence in KwaZulu-Natal in 1891, Illovo Sugar South Africa today is an invested, long-term contributor to South Africa’s economy, committed to partnering for the continuing transformation across its business. Illovo Sugar South Africa operations include the cultivation of sugar cane and production of raw, brown, and refined sugar and syrup. In addition to our sugar business, we produce downstream products namely furfural and furfural alcohol, ethyl alcohol and lactulose. All our products are supplied locally and internationally. Illovo Sugar South Africa is a proud BEE Level 1 contributor which is testament to our commitment to transformation, alignment with key national priorities as well as the achievement of the country's trade and industrial development goals, particularly in the sugar-related and downstream industries.
