Iqbar

IQBar started life when our CEO Helen was studying as an international student in LSE. She wanted to bridge the cultural gap between those in the UK and China and the idea of IQBar, a platform where tutors in the UK could teach those who were interested in learning English and learning about British culture in China, was born. Since then it has developed into an English language tutoring site with over 150 teachers and 100 staff in China working tirelessly to provide an excellent experience for both Buddies (teachers) and Breadies (students). At IQBar, we aim to provide high quality and friendly English language and academic sessions to Breadies across China from toddlers upwards. Buddies conduct one-to-one sessions with our Breadies using Picaro and Cambridge English as our materials. IQBar is more than just an online teaching platform. We are a community of dedicated teachers who know that the only way to teach well is to continue learning ourselves. That’s why we offer Cambridge Teacher courses and teaching packs for our contracted Buddies, as well as seminars for all Buddies to help develop teaching skills and discuss ideas and solutions that they’ve found in their time teaching. Alongside this, as we grow as a company, we are constantly looking for Buddies to take on new roles in training, creating resources and making videos.
