IKP is India's premier science and technology park, having promoted over 60 companies in the areas of biotechnology, pharma, medical devices and energy. IKP is a non-profit section 25 company. IKP supports companies in various life-stages in the following manner:
Start-ups: IKP provides mentoring, funding support and shared infrastructure in its DST supported incubator.
SMEs: IKP provides wet lab spaces, shared infrastructure and operational support to small and medium companies
Large companies and MNCs: Provides developed land on long-term lease for larger companies to construct their R&D facilities.
Other activities include technology licensing and intellectual property consulting, research into innovation ecosystems and research management practices.
IKP Grand Challenges Explorations:
IKP has now partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to select and fund ideas in the area of public health, through the IKP GCE program.
Biotech Ignition Grant:
IKP has partnered with DBT's BIRAC to run the BIG program. IKP will select around 10 companies each year to fund and mentor.
