IIGM- Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine (formerly HuGeF) is a not-for-profit entity established by Compagnia di San Paolo, the University of Turin and Turin Polytechnic in 2007. The Foundation’s aim is to support research of excellence and postgraduate training in the field of human genetics, genomics and proteomics with the contribution of all related scientific, technical and technological disciplines and with particular emphasis on the bioethical aspect.
To successfully tackle this mission, IIGM integrates – in a single facility and with an innovative organization model – molecular, cellular, developmental and population genetics, integrating theoretical approaches and state-of the art technological platforms. Teams of researchers are already at work in the labs equipped for bio-molecular research. IIGM has its own spaces and shares with the researchers of the Molecular Biotechnology Center both research facilities and part of the equipment, so as to encourage synergies and to share and consolidate their potential.
