IFTA (Irish Film & Television Academy) is a not for profit all-Ireland organisation with a membership of 1,300 Irish industry professionals, across 14 chapters of discipline (directors, writers, actors, producers, cinematographers, editors etc.) within the screen industry in Ireland.
The Academy nurtures and supports Irish creative talent, and rewards Irish Excellence in achievement. In addition to our two annual Awards Ceremonies - the IFTA Film & Drama Awards and the IFTA Television Awards - the Academy delivers a year-round Learning Programme of events and initiatives that give unique access to some of the world’s most inspiring screen talent.
Over the past 20 years, IFTA has delivered c. 570 Academy Events, Masterclasses and Discussions, with leading international professionals such as Martin Scorsese, Judi Dench, John C. Reilly, Chloé Zhao, Michael Moore, Stephen Frears, Ethan Hawke, Liam Neeson and more. The Academy's annual calendar of events also includes Talent & Networking Receptions, Actors Discussions & Forums, the Women In Focus seminar, Photography Exhibitions, the Dynamic/Diverse seminar, and the John Ford Symposium.
IFTA is also a co-founder of the Film Academies Network of Europe (FAN-E).
