Over the past decade, IDEAS xLab has worked with local governments, nonprofit organizations, businesses, community leaders, artists, researchers, and activists to create initiatives to impact health and wellbeing, spur policy change, and to cultivate hope and belonging. Projects have varied in scope and impact, but one thing has been constant: they have all been led by a diverse group of artists (LGBTQ+, Black, Women, Disabled, and more)
Our primary initiative is (Un)Known Project, that unearths and honors the names and stories of enslaved Black people in America and the global African diaspora.
