IAAD - The Italian University for Design was founded in 1978 in Turin and today, after more than 40 years of activity, it is one of the main centres of higher education in Italy and Europe. It is an incubator of talent capable of promoting an interdisciplinary vision of design and providing students with the necessary tools to be an active and constructive part of the change that characterises contemporary society.
For IAAD, the design is the culture of the project, a system capable of connecting production with end users, dealing with research and innovation to give social value and cultural meaning to goods and services that can be distributed on the market: meaning, function and form are the cornerstones of conscious design.
Thanks to the partnership with AD Education (leader in France among the private realities linked to the teaching of design and applied arts), IAAD is part of a network that counts 10 universities, 30 locations (2 in Italy, 2 in Spain and 26 in France), 10,700 students, 750 teachers and an integrated educational system composed of over 90 courses divided into Bachelor and Master degrees.
There are seven Level 1 Degree Courses: Transportation design, Interior design, Textile & Fashion design, Product design, Communication design, Digital Communication design and Social Innovation design.
As far as the Master's courses are concerned, IAAD offers three different specialisations: Transportation design, New Media Communication and Innovation design.
A teaching staff made up mainly of professionals, an organic relationship with the corporate world and a careful job placement service are the winning elements for rapid post-graduate placement, which today is close to 90% within a year of completion of studies.
