HUNTER DOUGLAS, international group with headquarters in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, specializes in architectural and window decoration products, leader in these segments. More than 100 companies sell their products in 80 countries.
Founded in 1919 by Henry Sonnemberg, the HUNTER DOUGLAS worked in the distribution of machines in Dusseldorf (Germany). With the Second World War, Sonnemberg moved to the United States, founding the Douglas Machinery Corporation. In 1945 joined the inventor Joe Hunter. Through a revolutionary process of continuous casting of aluminum, began to develop, manufacture and sell materials for aluminum blinds.
Between 1956 and 1970 the Company began a process of internationalization, launched linings and coatings on aluminum and is no longer familiar, trading its shares on the Stock Exchange.
In Brazil, since 1970, the HUNTER DOUGLAS operates through two segments:
Hunter Douglas Architectural Products (Metallic ceilings, "Sun louvres", Metallic Facades and Coatings) and Luxaflex (Curtains, Blinds and Awnings), only in Brazil serves a network of approximately 1500 (one thousand five hundred) resales.
Hunter Douglas Architectural Products Division currently markets metallic ceilings, facades and coatings, "sun louvres" and distributes in Brazil mineral fiber acoustic ceilings - Armstrong, wood's facades of the Spanish company Prodema, stainless steel meshes of the German company GKD, and recently acquired two new companies NBK Ceramic for ventilated facades and 3-Form an eco-resin panel translucent.
