The Humanity Haircut Project was initiated by Vishal Chauhan in New Delhi, India to provide free haircuts to homeless and orphaned children on the streets. Once Vishal partnered with Colin Boguski from Squamish, Canada, the Humanity Haircut Project was formalized and born. We now work with close to 20 NGOs to provide children at the respective NGO's facilities haircuts and a sense of self-esteem and confidence that lifts their spirits. With support from hair salons, barbershops, barbers, and stylists in both Canada and India, the Humanity Haircut Project is sustained through their generosity. This is a true sense of international collaboration between our two countries.
In addition to offering free haircuts, the Humanity Haircut Project is also designed to provide hours of experience to new graduates of barbering and hair training institutions. One of the common weaknesses of new graduates is they lack the confidence that comes with experience. This Project offers hundreds of hours of cutting experience to bolster the stylists' skillsets and, of course, confidence.
The Humanity Haircut Project is an initiative of the Vancouver India Education Project.
