Founded in 1885, Hughes Hall is the oldest graduate college in the University of Cambridge. Today the College welcomes applications from postgraduate and mature undergraduates (over 21) for all subjects. Two-thirds of our students come from outside the UK, and our alumni represent over 70 nationalities.
Hughes Hall has a particular interest in areas where academic study impacts the wider world, notably education, law, business, biomedicine and engineering. We also welcome students on the full range of Cambridge University courses, enjoying the academic diversity and the many opportunities for learning from other disciplines.
Located on a fine site overlooking the University cricket ground, between the heart of Cambridge and the train station, Hughes Hall provides good accommodation and food, and a lively, friendly, cosmopolitan environment for study.
