Led by school director Sarah J. Tracy, The Hugh Downs School of Human Communication is one of the largest communication schools in the world, administering five degree programs. These include over 2,000 undergraduate majors, 250 online master’s students, and 50 doctoral students.
The making of the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication originally began in 1978 as part of the Department of Communication within the College of Public Programs at Arizona State University.
In 1999, the school was renamed the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication and became part of The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University.
