Leading news source for Turkey and the region The Hürriyet Daily News is a newspaper of the same high quality since its first issue printed on March 15, 1961. The paper was bought by the Demiören Media Group in 2018 and has been under the group’s flagship Hürriyet since 2006. In addition to the resources of Hürriyet, the Demirören Group newspapers and the 600-member team of Demirören News Agency that we use through translation, we have our own staff of reporters and editors. The core value which binds together one of the world's most diverse news teams is that much of Turkish life and society - not to mention the reality of much in our surrounding region - is poorly refracted through the lens of international media. The Hürriyet Daily News seek to reflect Turkey broadly, overlooking neither the country's shortcomings and failings nor its virtues and successes.
