The Hope of the Amazon Association evolved from the Hope for the Amazon: Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Culture programme. This program started with the co-sponsorship of T-Consult and the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations in 2009. Since it's beginning it counted with the collaboration of international organisations such as the London School of Economics and Political Sciences Multimedia Lab, the Grubb Institute, Oezpa and the Tavistock Consultancy Service.
We initiated our work with a social responsibility program in a multicultural community formed by representatives of eleven ethnic groups of the Amazon that inhabited the territory of Red Ambiental Loretana in the city of Iquitos. After three years of in-depth action research we are evolving into a civil association.
Our Programmes offer organisations and individuals unique ways to explore and develop aspects of individual and corporative citizenship, exploring aspects as important as Sustainability, Social Inclusion and Social Responsibility at individual and corporative strategic levels. We offer a chance to contribute to new ways of understanding the roles of native community leaders in the Amazon, exploring how these roles and our relationships and relatedness with and to them can have a powerful impact not just locally but also internationally. Our main purpose is to promote transformation in the Amazon.
