The Himalayan Computational Linguistic Olympiad Nepal (HLON) endeavors to organise Computational Linguistic competitions in Nepal, specifically designed for high school students. The competition encompasses the areas of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing, aiming to raise awareness about the International Linguistics Olympiad, the International Olympiad for Artificial Intelligence, and the global preparations made by various countries.
The vision is clear – with a well-trained and capable team, Nepal has the potential to secure victory in the International Olympiads. The belief is grounded in the presence of computationally bright minds and logically/analytically talented individuals in Nepal who can excel on the international stage, bringing pride to the nation. HLON aims not only to foster success in international competitions but also to cultivate a robust community in Computer Science and Natural Language Processing, equipped with sound logic and analytical skills.
Conducting these Olympiads at the national level and sending participants to compete internationally serves a dual purpose. It not only provides a global platform to showcase Nepal's talents but also attracts attention from multinational companies, fostering potential collaborations with industry giants like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.
