The County Attorney, Michael Conlon, is a constitutionally elected official and is the chief law enforcement officer in the County. The County Attorney is charged with the prosecution of felonies and misdemeanor appeals from the district courts. The office works in conjunction with the State Attorney General's Office, Sheriff's Department, New Hampshire State Police and local police departments to prosecute crimes committed within Hillsborough County. Hillsborough County is the only county in NH composed of two districts, with two Superior Courts and two offices to support prosecution in each district. The Northern District Office is located in Manchester, and the Southern District Office is located in Nashua. The County Attorney's Office also works directly with the medical referee in cases of untimely deaths in the County.
