Heart Research Australia is dedicated to funding first-stage, innovative research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Because this kind of research does not attract government funding, our work is powered by the generosity of our supporters.
Previously known as North Shore Heart Research Foundation, Heart Research Australia was established in 1986 by concerned cardiologists at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital who recognised the pressing need to find new ways to reduce the high death rate and devastating impact of heart disease on the community.
