Health 2.0 NYC was founded by Eugene Borukhovich in 2008 as the New York Health Technology Organization. It became the first chapter of the Health 2.0 Conference company and served to lead the growth of a global grassroots healthcare innovation community with over 110 chapters worldwide. The conference company was acquired by the HIMSS conference in 2018.
In 2009 Eugene asked Alex Fair to run a few events while he went to Europe. Alex still manages the group and then founded MedStartr (MedStartr.com) in 2012 and then MedStartr Ventures (MedStartr.vc) in 2017 to help community members connect and advance innovative ideas in healthcare.
Health 2.0 NYC continues to be one of the largest and most engaged healthcare innovation communities in the world with over 7,300 members in NYC as of November 2018. Events are underwritten and managed by MedStartr staff and volunteers. To learn about how H2NYC can help you and your organization please reach out to any of our folks. We are interested in helping drive innovation in healthcare first and foremost, so please tell us how we can help.
Amazing volunteers like Megan Antonelli, Lois Drapin, Donna Cusano, Caroline Pang, Anthony Manson, Deanna Dammers, Juby George-Vaze, Avisha Nessavier, Nancie Steinberg, and dozens more over the past decade have enabled this group to hold over 100 events in 23 cities, but mostly here in NYC.
Also we appreciate the support and sponsorship of Rent24 where we host most of our NYC events these days and over 100 other organizations, especially CityMD, VNSNY, NYU, Columbia, NJIT, Rockefeller, Sloane Kettering, HP, Cohn & Reznick, McCarter & English, DataArt, PwC, HP, J&J, Bayer, Takeda, the City of New York, New Orleans, Canada, Enterprise Ireland, Startup Health, HIMSS/ Health 2.0, One Medical, Emblem Health, Aetna, Cigna, Verizon, Sprint, GE and so many more. Without the support of these people and organizations, we would never be able to do even a fraction of what we have been able to.
