Hawkamah Institute For Governance

Hawkamah is a world-class governance institute working to help build sound organisations, create corporate sector reform, ensure a strong banking and financial sector, and champion good governance. Founded by some of the world’s top financial organisations including the OECD, the IFC, and the World Bank, the Union of Arab Banks and the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority. The Institute grew out of the increasing need for a regional organisation working on the ground, and since then Hawkamah has been at the forefront of the governance debate in the region. Our primary goal is to provide the region's companies and boards with practical tools on how to improve their governance. Our work also involves engaging governments and industries, conducting surveys and studies, and creating regional benchmarks which often act as catalysts for reform.
