Established in 1965, Hartman-Cox is a Washington, DC based firm that has continuously produced award-winning, imaginative and responsible design for institutional, educational and civic clients. The three partners, Lee Becker, FAIA, Graham Davidson, FAIA and Mary Kay Lanzillotta, FAIA, are actively engaged in the design and management of the projects in a highly collaborative environment.
Hartman-Cox is particularly noted for its sensitivity and response to site and context, as well as its stylistic flexibility which has consistently created buildings that are appropriate to their surroundings and their function. The firm has won over 180 design awards, including six American Institute of Architects Honor Awards, the Louis Sullivan Award for Architecture, the 2006 Arthur Ross Award for Architecture and the American Institute of Architects Architectural Firm Award, the highest award the AIA bestows on a firm for design.
