Hang It Collective

Hang it is a free online platform for young people looking to enter the art world. It emerged from four graduates sharing their questions, doubts and struggles whilst searching for jobs in the museum sector. We are learning about careers, sharing our findings and building a community. 'Meet the Professionals' offers short, friendly interviews with young industry professionals and creative practitioners who help us get to the bottom of what kind routes are available in the art world and how you might get there. 'Beyond the Frame' is a space in which we explore the art, culture and tricky topics that occupy us as a group of young curators. These features are innovative in form, spanning short reads and audio clips, to longer investigations and self-generated video content. 'Useful resources' is an ongoing bank of useful stuff for those looking for doors into the art world. Here we collect links to job sites, great internship opportunities, our favourite art news resources and a growing dictionary of jargon. We all know the art world can feel like a closed club. Hang it offers a handbook written in a language we understand and complete with the tools we have discovered on our journeys to finding jobs.
