The Guelph Sport and Event Management Association (GSMA) is an accredited student organization at the University of Guelph for those interested in sports business. Members will have the opportunity to network with fellow students and industry professionals and engage in preparation for a career in the sports industry. To stimulate the next generation of sports business leaders and foster career opportunities for students who are passionate about the field, the GSMA aims to connect students with industry professionals and organizations. The GSMA intents to do this by providing an unparalleled educational experience for the sports business leaders of tomorrow through case competitions, socials events, speaker series, workshops, and team building sessions. To stimulate to inspire creativity and innovation in the sport industry and allow individuals to build the relationships necessary to achieve their professional aspirations. We do this by connecting current and future sport business professionals and organizations, and creating through-provoking educational platforms and effective relationship-building activities. We pride ourselves on being more than just a conference. The GMSA’s focus in beyond the play-by-play and is more focused on the strategic business models that are needed to continue evolving the dynamics of sport in relation to how sport is consumed by and engaged with the wider public market at large.
