In 1972, about 100 agricultural producers from the Chianti Classico area and the countryside around Florence came together in a cooperative with the aim of promoting and protecting the environment, the flavors and traditions associated with the production of extra virgin olive oil. Thus was born the cooperative "Oleificio between producers of Grevepesa" and in the heart of the Chianti Classico on the banks of the Greve river, a modern and above all essential and functional structure with a very high production potential was built. Today, with over 180 member companies, from small farms to large structured and renowned farms, the Frantoio del Grevepesa has an annual production capacity of 300,000 liters of high quality extra virgin olive oil.
