Yoga helps increase self confidence and with confidence in yourself and your ability to influence events and persevere through challenges, it's easier to take stress in stride.
At GPY we teach vinyasa yoga which involves movement through the yoga postures combined with stretching. Stretching the muscles alone causes the body to release endorphins, neurotransmitters that when released decrease pain and increase the feeling of euphoria. These "feel good" chemicals will help assist in the decrease of chronic stress.
Our instructors guide students through creative, intelligently sequenced flows to enhance healing, empowerment and self-awareness.
Our goal is for students to feel more open, balanced, strong as well as relaxed as they step away from performance and perfection and onto their own unique path of discovering their full potential.
We celebrate each person who is willing to come through our doors and join us in the joyful experience of yoga. Established in 2010. Co-owners Heidi MacVane and Danielle Toolan opened Greener Postures in South Portland in 2010. Teaching all 36 classes, the studio began to grow. Two years later, there are now two locations; one in South Portland and another in West Falmouth. The West Falmouth space has two studios which allowed GPY to broaden the variety of classes. Now offering not only heated vinyasa but also pre-natal, kids, deep stretch & restorative yoga classes.
