Green-Works is an award winning, leading social enterprise and registered charity, providing a unique environmental solution removing surplus office furniture and avoiding land filling by identifying deserving causes where it can be can re-used; re-manufactured “original products from recycled products” with the remainder recycled. Working with physically and socially disadvantaged people in depots throughout the UK helps to achieve the twin goals of zero waste and support in the community.
Green-Works provides four options for redundant furniture; our first goal is to find a new home where the items can be reused, this is the most environmentally friendly option, being 100% recycled, this also benefits many other companies who can purchase the items for a fraction of the original price. Secondly we offer the option to have original products made from recycled furniture in our Joinery department, which provides a significant reduction in energy used when compared to producing a brand new item. The joinery option enables you to create and design your office to fit your exact requirements. Our third scheme is our programme in Africa, donating furniture to war-torn communities in Sierra Leone helping to rebuild schools, hospitals, NGO’s. Finally any furniture that can not be reused in anyway, will get recycled in the correct and most environmentally friendly way.
