Grail Family Services strengthens family capacity to support young children's positive educational outcomes and to build a thriving community. We create a strong start for children - from birth - by 1) providing direct services that support the healthy development of children ages 0-9 years; 2) providing parents with the tools, knowledge and skills to support their children's success in school and in life; and 3) providing training and support to child care providers and teachers who work directly with children ages 0-9 years.
We serve approximately 2000 parents and children annually at our Family Resource Center and in 7 elementary schools in the Alum Rock Union School District (ARUSD). We serve an additional 2000 families indirectly through our Building Blocks of Parenting™ messages and our Family Engagement Professional Development program. Evaluation is a key component of our organizational culture. We use a number of research-based tools to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs, and to ensure that we are continuously improving.
