Glass Ceiling Arts Collective is a new arts organisation which supports creative artists and audiences from marginalised communities, in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our kaupapa is based on the principle of whanau as we actively seek out ways to bring communities together and create a more cohesive society through art.
We work across multiple artistic genres and listen to our community’s wants and needs so that we can make art that reflects the diversity of Aotearoa. We collaborate so that our pedagogy infiltrates the arts landscape to help to create an ecology of diverse artists whose work is valued equally. We support marginalised groups including people with a disability, people with high health needs, the LGBTQIA+ community, young people, older people, cultural groups, and others.
Founded in early 2020, we’re in the throes of being registered as a charitable company.
Our Mission: To create opportunities for marginalised communities in the arts, and contribute to a socially cohesive Aotearoa New Zealand.
