Founded in 1920 Geneva Airport (Genève Aéroport) is one of the oldest airports in the world. It accompanied the beginnings of aviation and contributed to the growth of the city as a major diplomatic capital.
In 2019, more than 17 million passengers used this infrastructure. Today, Geneva is connected to approximately 140 destinations worldwide and 60 airline companies fly and from Geneva.
With the construction of the East Wing, a building designed to accommodate boarding lounges for long-haul flights, launched in 2020, Genève Aéroport gives itself the means to accommodate the demand of contemporary travellers with better quality services.
Property of the State of Geneva, Genève Aéroport is an autonomous public institution since 1994. The company employs more than 1,000 staff members in nearly 200 different functions. Genève Aéroport hosts some 200 other companies employing around 11,000 employees.
