At Gary Farrell Winery, we are driven by the power of curiosity, the joy of discovery, and the inspiration within adventure. As a result, we forge our own path and believe the journey is as exciting as the destination. The best things in life are worth seeking out, and we seek to showcase the exquisiteness of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley and beyond.
OUR LEGACY
Beginning in the late 1970s, our founder Gary Farrell was a visionary who was instrumental in showcasing the world-class Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of the nascent Russian River Valley AVA. He made his first wine under the Gary Farrell label in 1982 and built the winery into one of the most acclaimed producers of small-lot Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays in the region.
Today, Gary Farrell Winery continues to craft wines of elegance, balance, and site specificity, and maintains collaborative relationships with many of the same growers we’ve worked with for over 40 years. Nurturing the legacy of Gary's iconic wine style is Winemaker Brent McKoy, who started in 2005 as Cellar Foreman working directly with Gary and rose through the ranks to become Winemaker in 2023 under the tutelage of winemaker Theresa Heredia, who transitioned to Consulting Winemaker in 2024.
