The laws on firearm possession and storage in the UK are very strict. Under sections 1 and 2 of the 1968 Firearms Act, it is an offence for a person “to have in their possession or to purchase or acquire” a firearm or ammunition to which section 1 applies or a shotgun (but not shotgun cartridges) without holding the appropriate certificate. The case law suggests that possession is an absolute offence. Possession may be constructive (that is, having free access to the firearms rather than physically possessing them) (Sullivan v Earl of Caithness 1976).
Take the hassle out of selling any new or used firearm. We’ll get the best price possible for you and ensure the sale is conducted properly in accordance with the law.
If, for whatever reason, you have a firearm in your possession/home which you are unsure about or simply want removed we can help. Typical reasons are; the passing of a family member who was licenced to hold the guns, expiration of a certificate/licence, revocation of a licence or maybe just moving house and/or no suitable security arrangements are in place. Whatever the circumstances we provide you peace of mind by collecting said guns and either storing them for you until your circumstances change, disposing of them or, if possible, realising their value for you by selling them legally on commission.
No responsible gun owner wants to fall-foul of the law themselves or, leave their family on a legal tightrope after they've passed away. We can help you plan for the future of your firearms with a "gun will" instructing your executors what to do with your guns after you're gone.
