Gräng Studios

Gräng Studios creates a useful, precious and timeless material. We do images for textiles, paper and digital - primarily patterns, but also illustrations, concepts, typography and graphic design. Gräng Studios creates by hand but process digitally. Focusing on the small, visualizing the unpredictable, the not obvious. A series of pictures lies close to our hearts, a “collection-thinking”, a balance. Our different backgrounds adds to the project. On one hand, we give the fashion aspect focusing on trend / function, on the other hand a genuine craftsmanship with a thorough material knowledge and reflection. The project flows between us. We meet in the passion for coincidence with a curiosity to explore. Creation takes place in an empty space dedicated to the customer, from scratch. We load the work with our time, skills and inspiration – this of course shows in the result. Something unique is created. Gräng Studios works side by side with the customer to drive the process in the right direction and tailor a result for the specific needs. We all believe in a sustainable approach and the importance of the craft. Gräng, from the French GRAIN, is a word that describes surface structures. The rough, uneven or granular. The resistance. It's not smooth, refined and expected. Gräng Studios: Terése Karlsson is a book illustrator and graphic designer with roots in traditional craftsmanship and art from her education at Capellagården. Emeli Mårtensson has many years of experience in fashion business ( both in Sweden and Italy ) working as a printmaker, designer, illustrator and creative director.
