GNPower; develops, owns, & operates power generation plants. The company was founded in 1997 & based in Manila Philippines. GNPower continues to respond to the country’s demand for development of energy sources. It explores opportunities in power plants fueled by coal, liquefied natural gas, geothermal steam, wind & biomass.
GNPD project; a 1336MW new build Power Station comprised of 2x668MW Supercritical Pulverized Coal Fired Power Plant with FGD Technology and associated facilities located on the approximately 50-hectare industrial property. Which is adjacent to the completed 2x300MW (GMEC) coal-fired power plant. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction agreements have been executed for GNPD.
GMEC Plant 2X300MW; completed and in operation since 2014. Since September 2016, NTPs were completed to procure the additional GNPD Plant 2X668MW units on same site.
GNPK Plant; completed and in operation four coal fired power units with total capacity 552 MW at Lanao del Norte.
GNPD is designed to meet the more restrictive of Philippine and World Bank emissions standards while selling power to off-takers under long-term power purchase agreements, as well as into the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market. Coal will be sourced under long-term off-take agreements with several Indonesian suppliers.
Luzon power market ranks as one of the most attractive in Asia. Its regulatory framework is investor-friendly and transparent, low current per capita electricity consumption combined with robust economic growth should ensure moderate to high demand growth. When it comes online, GNPD is projected to set a new standard as the lowest marginal operating cost of all coal projects on the grid.
