At Gillingham, students learn to think, and they discuss ideas in Great Books (full of story, rich vocabulary and a plethora of viewpoints), so that they truly understand their history, know their country's constitution, and respectfully and thoughtfully engage in meaningful discussion about all sides of economic, religious, political, historical, and philosophical issues. They grow the ability to write and to talk and to debate and to critically analyze and support ideas. Thus, they walk away knowing about and respecting others, their country, other countries and themselves.
