The GGD (Public Health Service) Region Utrecht protects, monitors and promotes the health of the more than 920,000 residents of the 25 municipalities of Utrecht our area. We do that by risks to health to identify, prevent, and the health of all residents.
Duties of the Public Health Service
We do include health screenings, give vaccinations, advise municipalities on the health and support schools and child in their care for a healthy learning environment for their children. In addition, we also provide assistance when incidents break out in the region, eg after an outbreak of food poisoning or an infectious disease and we ensure that we are equipped for rapid assistance in case of a bigger disaster (GHOR).
