The European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) Euregio "Senza Confini" is a public law body established in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1082/2006 as an instrument to contribute to cooperation across national borders by making territorial cooperation more strategic, but also simpler and more flexible.
The founding members are the Land Carinthia, the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Veneto Region. The EGTC thus represents a common instrument of political management of the three regions in order to create equivalent living conditions in the cross-border area, which are the basis for a real European integration.
The EGTC participates as Lead Partner, Partner or Associate Partner in projects financed under the Interreg V-A Italy-Austria 2014-2020, Interreg Adriatic-Ionian (ADRION) 2014-2020 and Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020 programmes.
The EGTC promotes cross-border cooperation by implementing Joint Projects for the development of the respective territories and for the border populations involved and is also involved in three strategies for macro-regions, i.e. the Adriatic Ionian Macro-Region (EUSAIR), the Alpine Macro-Region (EUSALP) and the Danube Macro-Region (EUSDR).
