GBR Architects was founded 1978 with a commitment to realizing enduring architecture that celebrates both creativity and tradition. We continue that specialty with a body of institutional work focused on schools, embassies, colleges, local governments and non-profits. Originally founded in Washington, DC, the firm’s offices have been in Alexandria, Virginia since 1994. Historic preservation has always been an integral aspect of our work and our thinking. GBR provides a team approach that integrates the design process and its technical complexities with the dynamics of human interactions to envision unexpected creative solutions. This has proven especially true with our historic preservation work. We are committed to design excellence and insightful problem solving creating successful projects that enrich our communities.
