GAISF is the Global Association of International Sports Federations, the umbrella body composed of International Sports Federations and other international sports and event-related organisations. Founded in 1967, GAISF acts as the voice for its 95 Member Federations and 20 Associate Members, which represent a total of more than 300 sports disciplines. GAISF works in close collaboration with the IOC, WADA and other Olympic Movement stakeholders to support its Members and develop sport on a global scale. The Members are split into five categories, representing the International Sports Federations of both Olympic and non-Olympic sports. The five categories are Associate Members, AIMS, ARISF, AIOWF, ASOIF
GAISF’s vision is to be “The United Voice of Sports, protecting the interests of International Federations.” This vision encapsulates GAISF’s multi-faceted role: from working with its Members to develop their sport, to creating IF-focused services and events. GAISF is equally committed to helping its Members promote sport at every level and in every corner of the world, from grassroots to elite level competition, wherever its Members have national organisations and events. The mission of GAISF is to serve, represent, promote and protect the common interests of its Members and to help them achieve their global objectives. Furthermore, GAISF aims to facilitate and promote knowledge sharing between its Members; to support the organisation of SportAccord, Regional SportAccord and the IF Forum; to develop ad hoc services for its Members; and to organise and coordinate multi-sport events. We believe that this mission is reflected in everything we do and we are committed to enhancing the role and reach of our Members around the world.
