Fundación Quirós Tanzi (FQT), created in 2010, is a Costa Rican non-profit organization with the mission of closing the digital gap in public schools and provide improved educational opportunities through the One Laptop Per Child model.
In 2011, the Foundation signed the Conectándonos program, a public-private partnership with the Ministry of Education, which provides teacher and student equipment, connectivity, pedagogical training, and continuous follow-up and support to students, teachers, and parents in the program’s schools. It is an educational initiative that aims at harnessing the power of technology to empower children to learn how to learn and develop life-long skills.
In March 2013, the Foundation will be delivering ~3,000 computers to 42 schools in 5 regions (Río Cuarto de Grecia, Curridabat, Fraijanes de Alajuela, Moín, and Turrialba).
